Johannes Brahms’ Quintet for clarinet and strings, a timeless masterwork, will be heard for the first time at EEC! A trio by Haydn, architect of high classicism, features EEC director and flutist Laura Gilbert. The blazing originality of Sofia Gubaidulina is already evident in her piano quintet, revealing her origins as a soviet composer bursting with talent and energy.
Our 2020 celebration of the vote for women fell victim to the pandemic, so for the 105th anniversary we offer music by New Hampshire’s own Amy Beach, Katie Semro, and Elise Grant, plus celebrated Chinese-American Chen Yi.
