Beethoven’s Septet, written in his early career, made him instantly famous in Vienna. Featuring six movements of symphonic string and wind sonorities, it will help us celebrate the arrival of high summer in grand fashion.
Also on the program are a Trio for Flute, Bassoon and Piano by Gaetano Donizetti, composer of bel canto opera; and Beth Wiemann’s “The Lake Guide” (2021), newly commissioned by the Sebago Long-Lake Festival. Laura Gilbert, flute (Co-Artistic Director of EEC) will be joined by Benjamin Fingland, clarinet, William Purvis, horn, Adrian Morejon, bassoon, Min-Young Kim, violin, Matthew Sinno, viola, Mihai Marica, cello, Jered Egan, double bass, and Mihae Lee, piano.
