Pianist Mimi Solomon, violinist Nicholas DiEugenio, and cellist Raman Ramakrishnan & EEC directors Laura Gilbert and Jonathan Bagg present the Piano Quartet in C minor Op. 60 by Brahms, plus a new work by Scott Lindroth for flute and strings, commissioned by EEC this year titled “Souvenirs”. David K. Garner’s “The Sky Was Good for Flying” (2016) for violin and piano and the Trio of Tatiana Nikolayeva will also be on the program.
Praised by the New York Times for his “excellent” and “evocative” playing, Nicholas DiEugenio has twice been a prize winner at the Fischoff Competition. He is director of the Luby Violin Symposium at UNC Chapel Hill, where he is Assistant Professor of Violin.
As a member of the Horszowski Trio, Raman Ramakrishnan has performed across North America, Europe, India, Japan, and in Hong Kong, and recorded for Bridge Records and Avie Records. He is an artist member of the Boston Chamber Music Society and teaches at Bard Conservatory.
Mimi Solomon has performed throughout the United States, China, Japan and Europe, and has appeared as soloist with orchestras including Shanghai Symphony, Philharmonia Virtuosi, and Yale Symphony Orchestra. She is currently on the faculty of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
