Up Close and Personal
Jesse Mills, violin, and Rieko Aizawa, piano performed an hour-long concert for the town of Temple on Saturday September 17 at the Temple Congregational Church. About 40 townspeople attended this Open Doors event free of charge, thanks to the NH State Council on the Arts. It featured a Steinway recently donated to the Town of Temple by a long-time resident; the performance (of Mozart. Greig, Satie, and Poulenc) was brilliant. We hope this is the first of many!
Building community at the Root
On August 11, EEC musicians Stacey Shames, harp and Artistic Directors Laura Gilbert & Jonathan Bagg performed a free concert at the Root Cafe in Temple. The Root has become an impromptu community-building space for Temple and residents of surrounding towns through its commitment to hosting music-making of all sorts. EEC’s “Open Doors” concerts are sponsored by the NH State Council on the Arts.

Ravel at Rivermead
Violinist David McCarrol and cellist Angela Park visited, along with pianist Emely Phelps paid a visit to the Rivermead Community in Peterborough on August 3 for a short concert. A sizable crowd gathered for the event. EEC’s “Open Doors” concerts are sponsored by the NH State Council on the Arts.
OPEN DOORS: CATALYST QUARTET AT KEENE LIBRARY
On June 4 the Catalyst members gave a free concert at the Keene Public Library’s Heberton Hall, inviting those attending into their intense world of interactive chamber music. The Catalyst are one of the country’s best and most innovative chamber ensembles. This concert and other Open Doors events are made possible by a grant from the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts.
