Jesse Mills and Rieko Aizawa spread magic in Temple

Rieko Aizaw and Jesse Mills, who have appeared as “Duo Prism” often in NH under the EEC banner, gave yet another magical performance at the Lukas Community in Temple, one of EEC’s partners in our Open Doors program (made possible by the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts). The residents of Lukas have been sharing their wonderful performance space with Electric Earth since 2012, our very first year. Mills and Aizawa come from New York at least once a year to perform at EEC, and rarely miss the chance to perform on one of our Open Doors concerts. They are truly a wonderful pair!

Trio Gaia in the Agora

Boston’s Trio Gaia gave the folks at lifesharing community Plowshare Farm in Greenfield, NH a sample of the Brahms trio they would perform the next day in Jaffrey’s Park Theater. Plowshare residents were touched by Gaia’s youth and sincerity, and their eloquent introduction to their performance. This program was supported by the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts.

Hot Flamenco goes to Church: Juanito Pascual, Jose Moreno, and Nelida Tirado

Guitarist Juanito Pascual and Jose Moreno, percussion appeared in an amazing concert at the Temple Congregational Church–free to Temple residents courtesy of our Open Doors program, sponsored in part by the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts “Arts for Community Engagement” program. A surprise appearance by the flamenco dancer Nélida Tirado, who has performed across the world made the already fantastic musical portion all the more unique; a truly unforgettable evening of music and dance. Thanks to all who made this possible!

To a Child Dancing

Harpist Tomina Paranova and soprano Rebecca Farley joined Artistic Directors Laura Gilbert and Jonathan Bagg at Plowshare Farm on June 6 for a rendition of John Tavener’s mesmerizing vocal setting “To a Child Dancing in the Wind”. Our friends at Plowshare shared a powerful experience with the performers! Thank you, Plowshare community, for hosting us!

Horszowski Trio hits Park Theater

As part of a two-day residency at Electric Earth, the renowned piano trio gave a performance with in-depth comments that ranged from thoughts about the life of a chamber musician to their personal feelings about the music being performed. A fascinating glimpse into the sensibilities of these three wonderful artists. As one audience member put it “that was an experience those kids will never forget”. The event was part of Electric Earth’s “Open Doors” program, sponsored by the NH State Council on the Arts.
