Season finale: Brandenburg No. 6 & Trio Cleonice

Cleonice

Electric Earth Concerts presents its season finale. Trio Cleonice will return to the EEC stage along with Artistic Director Jonathan Bagg, and Francestown native Jacob MacKay, in his first Electric Earth Concerts appearance.

This is the last in a season of 13 concerts spread across the seasons and in different venues throughout the Monadnock region. The celebratory finale starts with J.S. Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 6 and includes Antonin Dvorak’s lyrical Piano Quartet in E-flat, Opus 87 and the less familiar Piano Trio in D minor, Op. 3 by the Viennese romantic composer Alexander Zemlinsky. The program calls on a total of seven players, and will include a cellist Marza Wilks and Karl Doty on double bass. It promises a thrilling conclusion to the Electric Earth’s fourth season.

Cellist Jacob MacKay, who attended Con Val High, performed often in the area while a student, including as a soloist with the Keene Chamber Orchestra. Now a senior at Brandeis University studying cello with Joshua Gordon, he is poised at the start of a promising career. Trio Cleonice continues it rise to prominence on the national scene; they have appeared often in New Hampshire as part of Electric Earth Concerts and elsewhere. The trio hosts its own chamber series in Newton Massachusetts, as well as touring across the U.S. and internationally.
