Foliage: Aureole Trio & Jazimina MacNeil

Sunday, October 9, 2016, 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

$25.00

Electric Earth Concerts celebrates autumn with a concert by the Aureole Trio and mezzo-soprano Jazimina MacNeill. Artistic Director Laura Gilbert is a founding member of Aureole, whose distinguished career has brought them to such places as the Metropolitan Museum, the National Gallery of Art, and the chamber music societies of Chicago and St. Louis. The collaboration with Ms. MacNeil will match the rich colors of the flute, harp and viola with the vibrant young voice of one of America’s rising stars. Their program starts with 18th century songs by Henry Purcell and includes works by Maurice Ravel and Israeli composers Paul Ben-Haim and Lior Navok. This year Jazimina MacNeil, a residient of Harrisville, has appeared in New Hampshire with the Apple Hill Quartet, as well as singing at Carnegie Hall in New York and at the Tanglewood Festvial in Lenox, Massachusetts.

Program:
Ian Krouse: Two Sephardic Songs
Lior Navok: Veiled Echoes
Paul Ben-Haim: Trio
Maurice Ravel: 5 Melodies populaires greques
Harald Genzmer: Trio for flute, viola and harp
